Smith is a county in Tennessee. It was formed in 1799 from the following county/ies: Sumner/Indian lands. Smith began keeping birth records in 1880, marriage records in 1838, and death records in 1881. It began keeping land records in 1801, probate records in 1805, and court records in 1799.
