San Benito is a county in California . It was formed in 1874 from the following county/ies: Monterey. San Benito began keeping birth records in 1850, marriage records in 1874, and death records in 1874. It began keeping land records in 1850, probate records in 1874, and court records in 1874. For more information, contact the county at 481 Fourth St, Hollister 95023-3840. On the attached map, San Benito is located at F2. Land was later added from counties Fresno (1887) and Merced (1887).
