Pittsylvania is a county in Virginia. It was formed in 1767 from the following county/ies: Halifax. Pittsylvania began keeping birth records in 1853, marriage records in 1767, and death records in 1853. It began keeping land records in 1737, probate records in 1767, and court records in 1765.
