Montgomery is a county in New York. It was formed in 1772 from the following county/ies: Albany (called Tryon until 1784). The earliest land deed in Montgomery was recorded in 1777. Surrogate's Court records begin in 1787. One can contact the Surrogate's Court at 58 Broadway, P.O. Box 1500, Fonda 12069-1500. For more information, contact the county at P.O.
