Monongalia is a county in West Virginia. It was formed in 1776from the following county/ies: District of West Augusta, Va. Monongalia began keeping birth records in 1853, marriage records in 1796, and death records in 1853. It began keeping land records in 1776 (index), probate records in 1774, and court records in 1774.
