Kings is a county in New York. It was formed in 1683 from the following county/ies: original. The earliest land deed in Kings was recorded in 1683*. Surrogate's Court records begin in 1787. One can contact the Surrogate's Court at 2 Johnson St., Rm. 109, Brooklyn 11201. For more information, contact the county at 360 Adams St., Rm. 189, Brooklyn 11201-3712. On the attached map, Kings is located at J2. * At the City Register’s Office, 210 Joralemon St., Rm 2, Brooklyn 11201. Many Surrogate’s files before about 1870 are now at the NYC Archives and on microfilm at the Family History Library.
