Kalkaska is a county in Michigan. It was formed in 1840 (1871) (as Wabassee; renamed 1843) from the following county/ies: *Grand Traverse/*Antrim. Kalkaska began keeping birth records in 1871, marriage records in 1871, and death records in 1871. It began keeping land records in 1853, probate records in 1874, and court records in 1871.
