Jackson is a county in South Dakota. It was formed in 1883 (1915) from the following county/ies: Cheyenne/Lugenbell/White River *Pennington. Jackson began keeping birth records in ——, marriage records in 1915, and death records in ——. It began keeping land records in 1901, probate records in 1915, and court records in 1915. For more information, contact the county at P.O. Box 128, Kadoka 57543. On the attached map, Jackson is located at D5. The state archives holds records (1918—1981).In 1909 Jackson was abolished and became part of Mellette and Washabaugh. Jackson was re-created from Stanley in 1914, becoming fully organized in 1915.
