Howard is a county in Maryland. It was formed in 1850 from Anne Arundel county. The first land deed in Howard was recorded in 1839. Orphan Court records begin in 1840. For more information, contact the circuit county clerk at 8360 Court Ave., Ellicott City 21043. On the attached map, Howard is located at F3. The county was formed in 1838 as Howard District of Anne Arundel Co., but did not gain full county status until 1850.
