Hancock is a county in Maine. It was formed in 1789 from the following county/ies: Lincoln. Hancock began keeping marriage records in 1842–91 now held by the county clerk. It began keeping land records in 1790, and probate records in 1790. For more information, contact the county at 60 State St. Ellsworth 04605. On the attached map, Hancock is located at H11.
