Gordon L. Remington
Gordon L. Remington, FUGA, FASG, a native of Rochester, New York, currently resides in Salt Lake City, where he has maintained a genealogical practice since 1980. He holds a degree in history from the University of Utah. He has been a member of and served in a number of offices in the Association of Professional Genealogists since 1979. He has also been a member of the Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) since 1984 and was the editor of UGA’s Genealogical Journal. He has published more than forty articles in national and regional genealogical periodicals. He has also lectured on genealogy internationally, nationally, and regionally.
In 1992 Gordon was named a fellow of the UGA, and, in 1999, he was elected a fellow of the American Society of Genealogists. He has been a contributing author to all three editions of The Source: A Guidebook to American Genealogy, including the "Directories" and to The Library: A Guide to the LDS Family History Library (1988). In 2002 he published New York State Probate Records: A Genealogist’s Guide to Testate and Intestate Records and New York State Towns, Villages, and Cities: A Guide to Genealogical Sources under the auspices of the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
