Erie is a county in Pennsylvania. It was formed in 1800 from the following county/ies: Allegheny. The earliest land deed in Erie was recorded in 1823. The earliest wills begin in 1823. For more information, contact the county at 140 West 6th St., Rm. 121, Erie 16501. On the attached map, Erie is located at A1. Erie was attached to Crawford County until 1803. A courthouse fire destroyed pre-1823 records.
