Douglas is a county in Colorado. It was formed in 1861 from the following county/ies: original . Douglas began keeping birth records in 1894-1908, marriage records in 1864, and death records in 1894. It began keeping land records in 1863, probate records in 1861?, and court records in 1861?. For more information, contact the county at 100 Third St, Castle Rock 80104. On the attached map, Douglas is located at F3 . Original county seat at Franktown. Small part of Cheyenne and Arapahoe Reservations added in 1870. Courthouse burned in 1978 but minimal loss of records.
