The DAR has compiled an extensive collection of tombstone inscriptions for the District of Columbia, including the original registers of burials in District of Columbia cemeteries. The six-volume work, covering burials from 1847 to 1938, can be used at the DAR Library in the District of Columbia and the microfilm collection of the FHL.
The Washingtoniana Division of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (also called the District of Columbia Public Library) has a large collection of published tombstone inscriptions published by the Columbian Harmony Society with the following representative of that collection: Paul E.
