Cherokee is a county in Kansas. It was formed in 1855 as McGee from the following county/ies: original . Cherokee began keeping birth records in 1894–1911, marriage records in 1867, and death records in 1893–1911. It began keeping land records in 1866, probate records in 1866, and court records in 1868.
