Cape Girardeau is a county in Missouri. It was formed in 1812 from the following county/ies: original. Cape Girardeau began keeping birth records in 1883–93, marriage records in 1805, and death records in 1883–93. It began keeping land records in 1805, probate records in 1805, and court records in 1815. For more information, contact the county at 1 Barton Sq. Jackson 63755. On the attached map, Cape Girardeau is located at G8. State census 1868 and 1876. Almost all county records up to 1990 are now in custody of the Cape Girardeau County Archive Center, 112 E. Washington, Jackson, MO 63755.
