Beaufort is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1705 (as Pamptecough Precinct; renamed 1712; declared a county, 1739) from the following county/ies: precinct of Bath. Beaufort began keeping birth records in |——, marriage records in 1847, and death records in |——. It began keeping land records in 1695, probate records in 1720, and court records in 1744.
