Three volumes of books published by the Arizona Genealogical Society on cemeteries in the state are located at the Department of Library, Archives, and Public Records, Research Division. The archives also holds more than three hundred sheets of microfiche alphabetically listing people who lived in the state thirty years or more prior to their death. It is derived from an index to obituaries recorded mainly in Phoenix newspapers, but covering deaths from all over the state between 1865 and 1986.
The US GenWeb Project has a growing transcription database from cemeteries throughout the state. It can be accessed by county <www.rootsweb.com~cemetery/arizona.html>. Another growing database of Arizona cemetery transcriptions is the website <www.interment.net>.
