Aztec Club of 1847
http://www.walika.com/aztec/select2.htm
The Aztec Club of 1847 is a group of descendants, "direct or collateral, from a commissioned officer of the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps who served in any part of Mexico or adjacent waters during the Mexican War, 1846-48." The organization’s Web site is a great resource for those with an interest in military history, and for those whose ancestors may have fought in that war, it is a must-see. It includes a history of the organization, biographies of original members, loads of background information about the war with perspectives from both sides, battle maps, and even images of the war (in the "Art Gallery"). Plus much more!
One of the most recent additions is that of a searchable database of American Mexican War Officers. Information provided can include: record, first name, middle name, last name, suffix, birth date, birth year, city born, state born, death date and year, city death, state death, branch, academy, state appointed, rank in Mexican War, service unit, Ship, Aztec Club notes, notes on military service, notes on civilian service, and bibliographic sources.
