Last year, Senator Orrin Hatch sponsored a bill that proclaimed
October 2001 as Family History Month (see my article for
details). All of us owe a lot of thanks to Jo Russell, Jeannie Rogers, Rusty
Perry, and many others who labored to make this happen. Since then, many genealogists
have worked hard to have every October declared as Family History Month in many
state legislatures.
An Internet mailing list relating to Family History Month has
been established for those people interested in discussing the topic and sharing
information on the topic. You can browse the messages on that mailing list.
