Last week I wrote quite a bit about the GENTECH2002 conference.
In that newsletter, I wrote, "I never did hear the final attendance figures
for the event." I speculated that the total attendance was well over eight
hundred people. Indeed, it was well over.
Conference Chairperson Sandra Hewlett read my article and then
sent an e-mail with the final numbers. She proclaimed, "Exceeding all expectations,
GENTECH 2002 attracted nearly 1100 attendees!" In the message, Sandi wrote,
"We've finished with the number crunching and are pleased to announce GENTECH
2002 attendance exceeded 1000! Actually, it was 1097just three shy of being
able to state 1100 attendees. But I'm happy just to say we had "in excess
of 1000!" All but 10 states are represented in this total, plus many from
Canada, Ireland and England."
I think that is a record for the number of GENTECH conference
attendees. Sandi and the many others who made this conference happen should
be proud of their success.
