Everett H. Geurink, seventy-five, died on Tuesday, 22 January,
at his home. The cause of death was cancer. He was born 28 July 1926, in Davenport,
to Henry G. and Ella (Blunk) Geurink. Everett retired after many years in the
newspaper industry, most recently at the Denver Post, Denver. He had been a
photoengraver.
Everett Geurink was past president of both the Iowa and the Scott
County Genealogical Society, and recently co-chaired the National Genealogical
Society Conference held in the Quad-Cities. He was a member of the Scott County
Historical Society and the Civil War Round Table and Graphic Communications
International Union.
Following his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu
of flowers, memorials can be made to a favorite charity.
