Search for Yellow Transparencies

Regarding the picture tip for using yellow Mylar on dim old letters, etc., I have learned that was not the right way to ask for it. After visiting "Office Max" and not finding it, they directed me to an office-supply house that serves teachers. When I explained how I wanted to use this yellow plastic, the clerk showed me sheets of colored Mylar, among them sheets of yellow. She said teachers use the colored sheets to teach dyslexic children. I bought three yellow sheets. She said they are called "transparencies."

As to using summaries for pictures in Windows XP, one needs to know that this will only work with photos saved under .TIF and JPEG.

ADN Editor's Note: I hear from a lot of readers asking about where to find the clear yellow plastic that is so helpful in reading faint microfilm and documents. In addition to Kay's tip, I would also suggest looking for translucent poly binder dividers or file folders. Both have worked well for me in the past.
