1901 Census of Canada

Regarding the column that George Morgan wrote about "Archivianet at the Archives/Library of Canada," the 1901 Census of Canada has been online for a while, but it was terribly slow in trying to locate anyone (especially if you have slow Internet access like us).

There is a terrific new website AutomatedGenealogy.com that has the Index of the 1901 Census of Canada--complete with links so you can view the actual census page.

Remember though, it is a "work in progress," as the index is being completed by volunteers. You may have to check back if the area you are searching is not completed.
