Tracing American Indian Ancestry in Bermuda

One doesn’t normally associate American Indians with Bermuda. However, Indians were impressed as slaves in the 1600s and 1700s and transported to lands outside of North America. St. Clair "Brinky" Tucker and his cousin Jean Foggo-Simon both heard family stories about Native American blood in their veins when growing up on St. David's Island in Bermuda. Together, they set out to find the link.

The two did indeed find connections. A recent newspaper article in the Cape Cod (Massachusetts) Times tells of their success although it does not offer specific references to the documents used. You can read this interesting story online at: www.capecodonline.com/cctimes/findinga14.htm
