Regarding Sue's tip about using a datebook for recording family events,
I have an additional step to add.
When a birthday comes up on the family calendar, I write a story about that
person, using the material I have available. It may be a few sentences, paragraphs,
or pages. Then the "story" is included with the other family papers. Once everyone
has a story, it will be a big start on writing our family history. Remember,
there are no big jobs, only small ones.
