At the beginning of this year, Gunthard Stuebs, an expert on
Pommeranian research and also moderator of a German and English language mailing
list for Pommeranian genealogical research, started to gather structured
information from researchers with an interest in Pommeranian genealogical
research. The goal of Pommernkontakte is to bring together Pommeranian
genealogists on the Internetindependent of language, countries, or mailing
lists.
Pommernkontakte is building a database of "who is
researching what." Everyone with Pommeranian ancestors is invited to submit
data to this database, which then can easily be searched by others. To submit
your data, you fill out a form on the Pommernkontakte Web site and click on
"submit." The form contains fields for:
- The family name of your ancestors
- The town where they lived
- The county where this town is situated in Pommern
- The first known date that your ancestors are known to have lived in this town
- The last known date that your ancestors are known to have lived in this town
- Your name and e-mail address
You can find more information about this new database and also
submit your information at the Web site.
