I order microfilms for obituaries through my local library on the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service. In order to keep track of these orders and make it easier to submit them I have recreated the local library’s form in my word processor.
I fill out the form (newspaper names and dates) on my home computer. I save this request as a separate "letter" in my word processor. I then print it on the colored paper that the library uses to submit the request. I then enter the request information to my Approach database program to have a list of the requests. Then when the microfilm comes in I can look at the database list to see who I am looking for on that microfilm.
I am up to about 75 of these requests this way and works great.
