Missing Newsletters?
In recent months, we've had complaints from subscribers who are
having trouble receiving the newsletter. There are a number of possible reasons
for this.
1) Bounces.
If a newsletter we deliver bounces more than once, our e-mail server thinks
the address is no longer valid and removes it. You can see if you are still
on the Ancestry Daily News delivery list by checking your account settings.
(Log in at: www.ancestry.com then
click on the link that says "Free Newsletters" in the lower left hand corner
of the home page. You should be receiving any newsletters that have a check
mark next to it.)
2) ISP blocking.
Some ISPs mistake large mailings for spam and may either block the mailing or
route it to a "junk mail" folder. While we try to work with ISPs to rectify
this type of problem, a message to your ISP from you, the customer, can often
help.
3) Spam filters in e-mail clients or spam "killing" programs.
Depending on your settings and filters, your own e-mail program may be routing
the newsletter to your deleted folder or a junk mail folder. Many new filters
on the market allow you to add friends and solicited mailings into a special
"safe" file that will allow certain mailings through that might otherwise be
routed as spam. Check your help file for more information.
