Searching

You can search Ancestry.com and the Ancestry World Tree to help facilitate your genealogy work. To use these features follow the instructions below:

Search Ancestry.com

To search for an individual on Ancestry.com, follow the instructions below:

1. Highlight an individual from any view.
   
   
2. Click Search from the menu bar. A drop down menu will display.
   
   
3. Click Ancestry.com from the drop down menu. A separate browser window will launch displaying all matches found.

Search the Ancestry World Tree

To search for an individual on the Ancestry World Tree, follow the instructions below:

1. From the main Online Family Tree page, select the family tree in which you want to search for a name. The Pedigree View of the Online Family Tree will display.
   
   
2. Highlight the individual you want to search for by clicking on their name. You will know a person has been highlighted by the change of background color from tan to turquoise.
   
   
3. Click Search from the menu bar. A drop down menu will display.
   
   
4. Click Ancestry World Tree from the drop down menu. The Ancestry World Tree Search Results page will display.
