Basic Site Navigation

Ancestry.com has carefully designed its Web site to facilitate the easiest possible navigation for users. The site is organized into four different levels of navigation, with each level taking you from general to more specific information regarding the topic of interest. Each level of navigation is briefly explained below:

Tab Links: The Ancestry.com Web site is divided into seven main sections that you can access from one of the seven tab links located at the top of the Ancestry home page. The tabs are available on most pages within the site, allowing you to easily link to the main areas. The following are the seven main tabs:

Section Links: The section links display in a line directly below the tab links. The section links are context specific to each tab and will display according to the tab you select.

Left Navigation Bar Links: When you select certain selection links, a navigation bar will display down the left side of the page. Each of the links on the navigation bar accesses specific information.

Content Links: Throughout the site, there are links that access specific information on the topic that you are researching.
