Japanese: written 八子 ‘eight children’ 谷古 ‘valley’ and ‘ancient’ 矢子 ‘arrow’ and ‘child’ and other variants. Another possibility is Yakō in which the second character could be 高 ‘high’ 光 ‘shining’ etc.
