Brider Name Meaning

presumably from Middle English *briddere ‘bird catcher fowler’ (first attested 1483 in OED at birder) although the apparent lengthening of the vowel to /ai/ in the modern forms is unusual and no medieval examples of the name have been found in the counties where Brider occurs.
