Greek: reduced form of any surname ending in -takis, such as
Anagnostakis or Kostantakis. Such a surname would
involve a proper name stem ending in -t and the patronymic
suffix -akis. This patronymic is particularly common in Crete,
where it was adopted massively in the 19th century.
