French d’Aubigné, a habitational name for someone from any
of the various places in northern France called Aubigny or Aubigné,
named with the Romano-Gallic personal name Albinius (a
derivative of Latin albus ‘white’; compare Alban and
Albin) + the locative suffix -acum.
