  3. Czech and Slovak (Boroš): nickname from Hungarian boros ‘drunk’ (see 1 above); or alternatively from a Slavic personal name such as Dalibor, or Borivoj.
  4. Polish (also Boros, Borosz): from a Slavic personal name such as Borzyslaw or Bolebor.
