Mark Daly directs computational biology for the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School Medical and Population Genetics Program. Dr. Daly holds a B.S. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in genetics from Leiden University. Previously, he was the director of the Human Genetics Informatics group at the Whitehead Institute Center for Genome Research. Dr.
Dr. Carlos Bustamante is a Population Geneticist who received his Ph.D. from Harvard University. His research focuses on analyzing genome-wide patterns of variation within and between species to address fundamental questions in biology, anthropology, and medicine. During the past nine years as a faculty member at Cornell and Stanford, he has trained about 40 post-doctoral fellows and graduate students as a primary advisor. Much of his research is at the interface of computational biology, mathematical genetics, and evolutionary genomics.
Zach Pino was named Senior Vice President of People and Places in January 2016. Since June 2013 Zach has supported our growing, global employee base as Vice President of People and Places. During this time Ancestry was recognized as a Best Company to Work For in both Utah and San Francisco. He joined the Company in May 2011 as Vice President of Customer Advocacy and Global Customer Service subsequently serving as Vice President of Marketing Operations and Global Customer Service.
Brian Hansen has served as our Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Businesses since March 2015 and has held several product and general management roles at Ancestry for more than a decade. Brian is responsible for Newspapers.com, Fold3, AncestryProGenealogists, the Ancestry Institutional products in libraries and classrooms, Archives.com, and Ancestry Academy.
Dan Jones has served as our Global Vice President of Content since November 2011, having joined the organization in October 2008 as Director of International Content. Dan joined Ancestry after six years at The National Archives of the U.K. where he held a number of roles including leading the Business Development, Online Services and PR departments. While at The National Archives Dan implemented a successful program of public private partnership to encourage investment in digital access services, and served on the Executive Team and Board of Directors during 2007 and 2008.
Ken Chahine has served as our Executive Vice President and General Manager for AncestryDNA, LLC since April 2015. He joined the Company as General Manager and Senior Vice President for AncestryDNA, LLC in July of 2011. Prior to joining us, he held several positions, including as Chief Executive Officer of Avigen, a biotechnology company in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Utah, and at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals (currently Pfizer).
